It’s less than five weeks to WrestleMania. Currently, only two matches have been officially announced for the show: Roman Reigns will defend the Universal Championship against Royal Rumble winner Edge, while Rumble colleague Bianca Belair will challenge Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Of course, if Daniel Bryan wins next weekend in Fastlane, he could face Edge at WrestleMania instead.
While these are currently the main stories at SmackDown, Rollins is tucked into the middle card where he still needs to be given a game for Fastlane.
Rollins has been a part of many great WrestleMania moments over the years, and is expected to be part of the show again this year. With that in mind, here are five potential matches for the Messiah.
# 5. Seth Rollins against former WWE heavyweight champion Murphy
Murphy was once rescued by Seth Rollins after multiple defeats by Aleister Black. The former WWE heavyweight champion was taken under Messiah’s wing and became one of his most loyal disciples. In the end, Murphy was the only remaining student when, in late 2020, he turned his back on Rollins in favor of joining the Mysterio family.
Interestingly, WWE seems to have given up on the whole story, and since Rollins returned earlier this year, Murphy seems to want to be recruited by the Messiah once again.
Murphy tried to help Rollins in the current feud with Cesar, but failed to gain momentum in the last two matches at SmackDown. At one point it was thought that Murphy would get tired of Rollins and stand on the opposite side of the ring again.
These two men can steal a show at WrestleMania if the company gives them a chance to go one on one again.
