WWE is saddened to learn that legendary sports artist and championship creator Reggie Parks has passed away at the age of 87.

Parks has spent nearly three decades in the ring as a sports artist, working with promoters such as WWE Hall of Fame Stu Hart and competing in both the NWA and AWA championships. He even enjoyed a short time in the WWE ring before moving on to the second phase of his career: creating championship titles. Parks went on to hand-create some of the most famous titles in WWE history, including the WWE Winged Eagle Championship, which was used in the 1980s and 90s, and the classic Intercontinental Championship from the same era. His incredible work in both WWE and WCW has moved into the UFC and boxing world as he has continued to create iconic championship titles over the decades.

WWE would like to express its condolences to Parks’ family, friends and fans.
