A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a Texas convenience store that left 3 dead

The man allegedly drove a Dodge Ram to the store “with the shooter” and later “was seen fleeing with the shooter inside the vehicle,” Garland’s police department said in a press release.

Sunday’s shooting claimed the lives of three Garland teenagers, police said. Xavier González, 14, Ivan Noyala, 16, and Rafael Garcia, 17, were identified on Monday as police said in a statement. news release. A 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital and is stable, according to the statement.

The man was charged with felony criminal mischief and is being held on bail of 1,000,000 at the Garland Detention Center. Garland’s police department did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for information on the charges.

Detectives are looking for even more evidence that could help positively identify the shooter, according to the press release.

On Monday, Garland police chief Jeff Bryan said a 14-year-old man suspected of “being the shooter” had been arrested.

But police said on Tuesday that “according to new information from the investigation,” the 14-year-old is not being charged at the moment and has been handed over to his family.

“Detectives learned that the 14-year-old man who was arrested yesterday has an intimate knowledge of the shooting and is cooperating with the investigation,” the police department said.

During a press conference on Monday, police played a video of the scene showing the outside of the store. In the video, a man in shorts without a shirt opened the store door and started firing.

“The weapon used in this incident was a .40 caliber pistol. It had an extended magazine,” Bryan said. “We know he fired at least 20 cartridges because we found the caps.”

Police believe the shooting was retaliation and was a “targeted attack on one or more people inside the store,” police said in a press release.
