- Amazfit Bip U Pro: $69.99/Rs. 4,999 / 59 pounds / 69 euros
The Bip U Pro is the successor to last year. Amazfit Bip U. From the design to the watch’s core specs, everything stays the same. It’s not that bad as the Bip U was an impressive smartwatch for its price. However, there are several features that set the Bip U Pro apart from its predecessor.
Amazfit Bip U Pro comes with Amazon Alexa Smart built in. This time there is also a standalone GPS and compass. All of these attributes are missing from the original Bip U, making it a convincing example of the Pro’s $10 price increase.
In a wider wearable environment, the Amazfit Bip U Pro offers a neat space on its own.
In a wider wearable environment, smart watches provide a neat space by themselves. Few fitness watches have GPS features available at this price point. Of course, you have multiple options if you wish. Fitness band Instead, if you need a bigger screen and standalone GPS, you’ll have a hard time choosing.
Key specifications and features of the Amazfit Bip U Pro include a 1.43 inch IPS LCD color display, more than 60 sport modes, blood oxygen monitoring, 5ATM water resistance, 24/7 heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking. The smartwatch is available in black, pink and green color options.
What is the design of the Amazfit Bip U Pro?

I received a pink color model of the Amazfit Bip U Pro for review, but I personally prefer black because it suits everything. That said, the pink color isn’t bad at all. It’s the same subtle candy pink that Apple uses. Apple Watch Series 6.
The watch’s display looks larger than it actually is due to the large bezels around it. The lower bezel with the Amazfit branding is especially thick.
On the right side of the clock is a crown that acts as a navigation button. Unfortunately it doesn’t rotate.
The strap is made of cheap silicone that traps sweat underneath.
The Bip U Pro is one of Huami’s most basic smartwatches, so don’t expect metal or fancy materials anywhere. The case of the device is made of polycarbonate. The strap is made of cheap silicone that traps sweat underneath. My wrist itchy quickly during walks or exercise, so I had to remove the watch and wipe the strap with soap and water after that. Then it’s always a good practice to clean your watch strap regularly, as sweat and dirt can lead to flaking on your skin.
Overall, the design of the Amazfit Bip U Pro may resemble that of an Apple Watch with a square display, but the build quality isn’t close to premium. The company could do better for the price. cheaper Mi Band 5 Compared to the Bip U Pro, it uses superior materials. However, the smartwatch is lightweight, which is an advantage if you don’t have a lot of bulk around your wrist.
How well does Alexa work on the Amazfit Bip U Pro?

Bip U Pro Amazon Alexa It is one of the best selling points. But this is not the same Alexa you expected.
To authorize Alexa to work on the watch, you need to log in to your Amazon account in the Zepp app. This setting is buried under an ambiguous name in the app (Profile> My Device> More> Add Account), and I would have wasted my time finding it if it weren’t for the previously mentioned path. It also doesn’t help if the watch shows an obscure message to connect Alexa in the “device section”.
After launching Alexa, you can program the crown button to act as a shortcut to your voice assistant. Otherwise, you will need to access Alexa from the list of apps, which is a much longer process.
Synchronization issues negate the purpose of having a voice assistant on the watch.
I was very disappointed that the voice assistant failed to connect when the watch was out of sync with the phone’s Zepp app. The problem here lies in synchronization. If you don’t use the Zepp app for about 30 minutes, it won’t automatically sync with your smartwatch until you run it again on your phone. Then it will take a few seconds to sync your data, and only after you’re done you can use Alexa on your wrist again.
This issue negates the purpose of having a voice assistant on the watch. I wasn’t able to summon Alexa by voice, and due to sync issues I was able to get my assistant to work only about once every 5 times. But if it works, you can ask Alexa to set an alarm, check the weather, play a news briefing, and more. This is done without obstacles.
What else can you do?

Like the Bip U, the Pro variant does the basics right. Fitness tracking for activities like walking and biking was accurate in my experience. Basic step tracking, distance calculation and Heart rate monitoring Worked without obstacles. Seat Blood oxygenation test It almost matched what I read on my Apple Watch Series 6 and at my fingertips. Pulse oximeter.
Although I couldn’t swim or go to the gym due to COVID-19 restrictions, there are many different modes of activity to help track more serious workouts.
One Sleep tracking Of concern is that the Bip U Pro correctly displays bedtime and wake-up times in minutes. It tells you the percentage of deep sleep, shallow sleep, REM, and waking time. The nap tracking feature is also in place, so if you snooze for 30 minutes during the day, the watch keeps a record.

The area where I felt my device was lacking was measuring the quality of my sleep breathing. The Bip U Pro evaluates your breathing quality while you sleep. SpO2 Reading every hour. But the analysis you get is grim.
The Zepp app categorizes sleep breathing as mild, suspected low risk, suspected medium risk, or suspected high risk. My analysis stayed “slightly” while using it, but I have no explanation of what these metrics mean.
One of the new additions to the Bip U Pro is the built-in GPS. It works like most other standalone GPS watches from Amazfit. Don’t expect to reach your goal entirely. GPS maps tend to go through buildings and walls from time to time, but if you want a basic sense of where you have been, that will be enough.
Anything else?
- Zepp app: Connected apps provide comprehensive data about your activity in the form of charts and graphs. It’s easy to understand, but your app might be better in terms of overall UI and navigation. It’s all over the place now and it may take some time to find items for first time users.
- Battery life: No need to worry about running out of juice on the Bip U Pro. It can usually last for 9 days and is not satisfactory. The watch can be charged to 100% capacity in 2 hours.
- Third party app: As with all Amazfit smartwatches, third-party app support is very sad for the Bip U Pro. Don’t expect to connect to music apps or many fitness apps. However, you can connect to Alexa, Strava and Apple Health. Of these, you can only access Alexa from your wrist.
- Music Control: You can use the Bip U Pro to control your workout music directly from your wrist, but it doesn’t come with a dedicated music store.
- microphone: The watch has a microphone for when you need to talk to Alexa, but you can’t answer incoming calls.

If you’re looking for a basic fitness tracker that includes the many features you need to start your workout trip, we recommend buying the Amazfit Bip U Pro. More than the Alexa Smart, you can choose instead of the original Bip U for standalone GPS. However, if you were dragged into the product for voice assistant support, you can reconsider or Check predecessorsThere is no Alexa, so you can save cash.
Beyond the Alexa smart, you can choose the Bip U Pro instead of the original Bip U for built-in GPS.
If you’re looking for a perfect sync and app experience, you’re better off looking elsewhere. You can always improve connectivity through software updates, but removing repetitive features requires making the app more intuitive and reworking. Third-party app support could also be improved if Huami chooses, but it doesn’t seem to be the company’s focus area.
