American Caeleb Dressel wins her first individual gold medal in the 100-meter freestyle final

Victory gives Dressel her first individual Olympic gold medal. He had previously won three gold medals in relays, including the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay previously in these Games.

Australian Kyle Chalmers won the silver medal with a time of 47.08, while Russian Kliment Kolesnikov won the bronze in 47.44.

Dressel followed other Olympic stars, such as The American gymnast Simone Biles, talking about the difficulties athletes face.

“I don’t know if it has been installed yet,” he said after winning in Tokyo. “Right now I’m doing a little bit of harm. But it’s been a very hard year. It’s very hard. So to show the results, they really came together. So I’m happy,” he said.

Biles retired from a dramatic team competition on Tuesday, citing mental health issues while trying to protect “his body and his mind.”

“Whenever he’s in a high-tension situation, he’s scared,” Biles told reporters Tuesday. “I need to focus on my mental health and not endanger my health and well – being.

“It just hurts when you fight with your own head.”
