Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas seems to have learned a lesson or two from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi about avoiding tough questions. All you have to do is discredit the question itself.

Mayorkas took questions from lawmakers Wednesday at a virtual hearing before the House Homeland Security Committee on “The Way Forward on Homeland Security.”

Within two short months, the Biden administration wasted the fruits of years of efforts to alleviate unrest on our southern border. As a result of a series of silly executive orders signed by President Joe Biden on the day he was inaugurated, border conditions have deteriorated to what can be described as a crisis.

And Republican members of the committee didn’t know about calling the hyperpartisan DHS secretary about it.

Florida Republican Kat Cammack opened her questioning by asking what the letters of “FEMA“stand for. He wants to establish that it is a federal agency that responds to emergency situations in the U.S. but has been sent to the border to help with the current crisis.

Shifting gears, he asked Mayorkas if he supported the current security fence, complete with barbed wire, which surrounds the Capitol building and if he deems it necessary.

Growing bored with Cammack’s line of questioning and knowing where it was leading, he said he wasn’t an “expert” in that area. He did not study the situation.

The congressman said he just wanted to establish that the barriers worked.

Recovering his time, Cammack told Mayorkas, “I just want to take it home a little bit. You see, I’m from a small town on the outskirts of the west and a month before I graduate high school. – that in 2006 – one of my classmates was kidnapped by an illegal deportee several times. “

He continued, “And I think when you have policies that motivate people to approach illegally and we don’t have the right mechanisms to protect our borders-like you said, FEMA is deployed and they is an emergency agency – that kind of impact has resounding effects.

“So, my question to you – her name is Amber Scott, the young lady it kidnapped illegal criminal – how many more Ambers must be kidnapped across America before you take action? “

“Congressman, I find that question extremely disrespectful,” he replied. “Disrespect not only to me but disrespectful to the men and women of the Department of Homeland Security and to all frontline personnel across this country who have dedicated themselves to the safety and security of Americans.”

“I’m sorry and you feel that way. I’m sure the American people feel a great deal of respect about the border situation they face today.”

Despite the fighting that took place on the border, Mayorkas stopped calling the situation a crisis. Instead, he referred to it as a “challenge. “Biden also refused to acknowledge the current reality.

It won’t be long until crime rates in the areas most affected by the crisis rise. Unavoidable. And the disaster the Democrat has created is impossible to ignore.

Fox News reported Thursday morning that two members of the Biden administration working on border issues believe the president and his successors Oh! It’s wrong do not admit that this is a crisis.

Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, said, “Last week I didn’t call it a crisis. Now it makes sense. We’re overwhelmed. We don’t have the resources to stop cartels from carrying illegal ones. foreigners, from carrying drugs, therefore we are in a crisis. “

The second Customs and Border Protection official, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “The president understands this is a crisis, so he told the migrants, ‘Don’t come near.'”

Biden has no current plans to travel to the border.
