Sen. Joe Manchin (DW.V.) is sharing his thoughts with the President Joe Biden’s message to immigrants and US-Mexico border states.

“Any message is sent – it’s definitely interpreted the wrong way,” Manchin told CNN’s Manu Raju. “It’s a crisis – oh it’s a crisis.”

The White House organizer for the southern border, Roberta Jacobson, sought to clarify the messaging surrounding Biden’s immigration policy in her appearance on CNN’s “New Day” on Tuesday, as Reported by IJR.

“It’s a more humane system but it’s not open borders,” Jacobson said.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas explained in an interview with “Good Morning America” what the administration is doing to address the situation.

“What we are doing is addressing children who come to the border to claim under the humanitarian laws established by our country years and years ago,” Mayorkas said.

He continued, “And we are developing the ability to address the needs of those children when they arrive but we are also sending and critical an important message that now is not the time to get to the border.
