Daniel Cormier promised to “slap” Ben Askren if he lost to Jake Paul.

Retired MMA star Askren is set to make his professional boxing debut against internet personality and boxer Jake Paul in an eight-round bout allegedly participating in the cruiserweight category.

The Askren vs. Paul match will be titled Boxing PPV to be held at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 17, 2021.

On a recent issue ESPN MMA DC and Helwani to show MMA Legend Daniel Cormier and his co-host Ariel Helwani addressed the professional boxing match of Ben Askren and Jake Paul.

“Listen, we have to,” Daniel Cormier said, noting that he, Ariel Helwani and the rest of the MMA community should root Ben Askren in Askren’s upcoming fight against Jake Paul.

Cormier added, “We support Ben Askren. I support Ben Askren (due) not only to the fact that we are Olympic teammates, and he is my friend. I cheer for Ben Askren because Ben Askren goes there and presents Mixed Martial Arts against Internet fame. Like, Ben Askren has to do it. And I’m not the only one. Dana White intended to slaughter Zab Judah for a million dollars on Ben Askren! “

“Dana, this is crazy. This is crazy. Don’t go crazy betting a million dollars in a boxing match with Ben. But Ben seems to be getting ready. Looks like Ben is training … Dana has to be careful betting money on Ben in a boxing match because the kid is training. Jake Paul trains. Jake Paul seemed to know what he was doing, though it was against Nate Robinson. But, you know, let’s go, Ben. Ben, you have to do this! Ben, you have to do this. I mean in the end, it all comes down to this – Ben Askren, you have to do it! You have to do that. “

“So strong, brother, he (Ben Askren) is so strong. Like, people don’t realize, like, until Ben grabs you, how strong he is. And look, yes, he lost to (Jorge) Masvidal in five seconds. But come back. Universally, people thought it was Ben Askren’s fight to lose, right? And so he was caught with his knee in about five seconds. They fight ten times, does that knee fall, every match? That fight could have gone a lot differently. “

“Ben needs to win this fight (Jake Paul). Later I see Ben Askren, (if) he loses to Jake Paul, I slap him … Ben Askren, you lose to Jake Paul, I slap you. You better beat this guy up. Don’t lose to Jake Paul. Go win this guy. Come on, Ben. You have MMA, it’s wrestling in the US, everyone is, we’re all watching. Everybody’s watching, Ben; Everybody’s watching, Ben. And let me tell you, I’ve talked to a lot of people. Many people want to slap you if you don’t. Well, you better win this fight, man, I’m telling you, ”Daniel Cormier said. Daniel Cormier insinuated that despite that Jake Paul seriously engaged in boxing training Ben Askren has a chance to defeat YouTube.

As suggested by DC, like many other martial arts fans and experts, Jake Paul has previous experience in professional sports. boxing while ‘Funky’ does not.

Still, the consensus is that Ben Askren’s overall combat sporting experience – everything from Olympic wrestling to MMA – could potentially make a difference in his fight against Jake Paul.
