De Blasio Claims Cuomo Is ‘Literally in the Way of Us Saving Lives’ by Refusing To Resign

Mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio (D) is accused by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) of standing in the way of the battle against COVID-19.

On Sunday, de Blasio was asked by CBS ‘Margaret Brennan if she believes Cuomo will resign because several women have accused her of sexual misconduct.

“I think he’s going to try to succeed,” he said. “I think he’s used to taking things according to him, and it’s become an almost imperial governor. But, I have to tell you, the people in this state and the political leadership no longer believe to him. He has no credibility. “

De Blasio continued, “So, I think a continuation of the impeachment is going to start. And I think he will be impeachable. And maybe right before that, he will decide to resign, maybe that’s the likely outcome right now. ”

Finally, he claimed, “He should resign right now because he’s thwarting our efforts to fight Covid. He’s literally on the way to saving lives.”

De Blasio previously called to Cuomo to resign after several women’s works accused the governor of sexual harassment.

“The specific allegation that the governor called an employee of his, someone he had in power, called them to a private place and then sexually assaulted him, is really unacceptable,” he told reporters on Thursday.

He added, “I hate it, and he can no longer serve as governor.”

While dozens of state legislators and more than 16 members of the New York Congressional delegation have called for Cuomo, House Speaker to resign Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said, “I think we should see the results of [investigation], but he can decide, hopefully, that this result is near. And what I’m saying is the governor should look into his heart, he loves New York, to see if he can govern effectively. And that may be one of the considerations he has. “
