“The assailant pushed her in the back, stole her cell phone and jumped into a car she was waiting for,” a spokesman for Boxer’s office said. “Thank you for no serious injury.”
The assault and robbery took place Monday at 1:15 p.m., local time, on the 3rd block of 3rd Street, the Oakland Police Department confirmed to CNN.
The suspect “grabbed” Boxer’s cell phone and fled the area in a vehicle waiting nearby, police said.
This incident is currently being investigated by the theft department of the police department, police said. The department offers up to $ 2,000 as a reward leading to the arrest of the case.
