Google Drive makes it easy to collaborate with anyone on your docs, slideshows, and spreadsheets. Being able to comment on a colleague’s project plan or get feedback on upcoming presentations will help improve the final result. However, other than email notifications, it can be difficult to track notes about requests, tasks, and tasks in Drive. To help you manage your tasks, Google has added a Notifications tab to the Drive app for Android so you can see the activity of any files you have saved to the cloud.
A new notification menu can be found in the Drive app of any Google Account. It doesn’t apply to everyone yet. To find this out, if you are a Workspace user, select the Priority icon in the app navigation bar, otherwise, select the Home icon, then tap the New Notifications tab below the search bar. All drive-related notifications are listed here, but you can adjust settings to control what you do and don’t do.
In each notification, you can view file information, open related documents, and share with collaborators. Plus, you don’t need to enable device notifications for your drive to use this tab, so you can keep your phone quiet while still giving you additional management tools.
Google Drive’s new Notification Center will be available in the app starting today and will be available to all users over the next two weeks.
