As we expected, the 63rd annual Grammy Awards adopted a partially digital “hybrid” format for the Sunday night ceremony, resulting in a mix of red carpet physical look and glamorous fashion at home.

But, as always, the style of the music awards was brighter, bolder, and more showy than their film and television counterparts.

While many nominees watched from home, performers and award presenters arrived in person at the Los Angeles Convention Center. And they weren’t about to miss a rare opportunity to spend a moment on the red carpet.

Noah Cyrus, nominated for this year’s Best New Artist Award, produced perhaps the most meme-worthy moment of the night at Schiaparelli’s haute couture. On social media, the singer – and little sister of Miley, herself a former Grammy nominee – made comparisons with everything from a huge oyster and a duvet to a crumpled fabric and a cauliflower.

Fluorescent colors, one of the highlights of last year’s Grammys thanks to Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish, have also come back into effect this year. Debi Nova opted for a showy pink, while Megan Thee Stallion arrived in a bright orange Dolce & Gabbana dress, complete with a giant bow and a slit at the thigh. Dua Lipa, nominated for six Grammys, including the prestigious album of the year, was the epitome of glamor, which hit the red carpet in a bright earthy dress with a Versace butterfly motif.

Meanwhile, candidate Doja Cat opted for a bold Roberto Cavalli outfit, which started out as a motorcycle-inspired leather jacket with a submerged zipper and ended with a green neon feather train. And Phoebe Bridgers, nominated for best new artist, took a markedly different, though no less striking, approach to a Thom Browne skeleton.

Men’s clothing was a little less adventurous, with host Trevor Noah at Gucci among the stars opting for a seamless black tie. But there were also fun strokes, from DaBaby’s floral print dress to Bad Bunny’s hat with, true to its name, pointed, playful ears. Harry Styles opened the ceremony by performing “Watermelon Sugar” in a Gucci leather dress paired with a feather boa.

Meanwhile, one of the best dressed sets of the night, BTS, arrived with coordinated Louis Vuitton looks, ranging from the formality of the tie to a sweatshirt with a brown hoodie and white sneakers.

This story will be updated throughout the night with more of the best fashion moments from the awards,
