“India played a lot better than us”- Eoin Morgan after England’s defeat in 4th T20I

Eoin Morgan admitted that team India were the better side in the 4th T20I as the hosts recorded an 8-race win to hold the series in the final match.

The English skipper added that he was pleased in the half-stage with his side’s performance because he expected the dew to make it harder for Indian bowlers to defend a total of 186. However, the men in blue came out as winners, despite unfavorable bowling conditions

England seemed to have the advantage in the last four crossings. But Shardul Thakur’s double in the 17th reversed the tan of the game as the sailor progressed Ben Stokes and Eoin Morgan on successive deliveries.

Speaking after the game at the post-match presentation ceremony, Morgan praised India and accepted that his side was the second best team of the day.

“It’s definitely the closest game in the series so far. India played a lot better than us tonight and totally deserved the win. A lot more dew throughout the game. The game was falling and flowing a lot. It went from a bowling position to catch the game well, and then hit well and have complete control, and then the momentum of the game returned to India in favor, and in the last part a few balls made it interesting, ”said Eoin Morgan.

“When we thought about it, we were very happy halfway through, knowing it was the end of the term, the ball didn’t offer much of a turn, and we controlled most of the game,” the 34-year-old added.

Eoin Morgan also praised Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes for their quick 65-lead partnership, which put England back in the game. However, the skipper was frustrated that none of the midfielders managed to hit all the way.

“They (Bairstown and Stokes) did the basics really well and got into themselves after losing a few goalkeepers. Getting fresh is never easy in any game format, especially harder in T20 cricket when the running speeds are 10 and 11, but they managed to deny it. It was nice for them to get us back into the game, but in the end it was frustrating given the experience we have in that department that in the end there aren’t one or two guys, ”Eoin Morgan said.

“I’m trying to learn as much as we can before the World Cup” – Eoin Morgan

Eoin Morgan obviously has one eye on the upcoming T20 World Cup and he didn’t mind that the series would be decided in the final match. The English skipper wants to learn from this experience, because he believes that the upcoming match will be the closest experience that his side will get in a World Cup match.

“Our journey, trying to learn as much as we can before the World Cup is important. We really want to play in these mandatory games. They are the closest we can play in the World Cup or the Champions Trophy, and against a fantastic team like India, this should be great game “, concluded the skipper from England.

The decision on the series will be played on Saturday at the same venue in Ahmedabad.
