North American NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes set a goal on his back after declaring himself “NXT Champion” and Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunn to have him in their crosshairs.
Gargano has been a thorn in Hayes’s side after returning from his honeymoon, seeking to reclaim the North American championship. Gargano’s pursuit of the title led to his interfering in Hayes’s vs. Dunn match.
After Dunn’s victory, he claims to be the first in line for the title, which Gargano really does not like. But Hayes, being a confident champion, decided to give them both an opportunity in the next week’s Triple Threat Match.
