Major update on Cody Rhodes’ return to AEW- Reports

Cody Rhodes is absent from AEW programming from the episode AEW Dynamite: Homecoming from August 4th. But according to a recent report, the former AEW TNT champion could return sooner or later there’s a big update on when we’ll see the American nightmare in action again. Cassidy Haynes of reported that Cody Rhodes is expected to return to AEW programming in September. In addition, he noted, there are big plans for AEW EVP.

Cody Rhodes has not been seen since he lost Malakai Black in a special episode of returning home to AEW Dynamite in Jacksonville, Florida. The former TNT champion lost in a shocking way and apparently intended to announce his retirement. However, Black’s attack after the match prevented Rhodes from officially announcing the news.

Cody Rhodes and his wife Brandi star in a show called “Rhodes to the Top,” which has probably occupied him for now. With his company gaining momentum day by day, Cody’s re-introduction on AEW television should further boost weekly shows.

A rematch between Cody Rhodes and Malakai Black could be planned

As already mentioned, Cody Rhodes lost to Malakai Black more than a month ago and was not even allowed to finish his speech after the game. Everything points to a rematch between the two when the TNT champion returns for the first time.

This direction could be reminiscent of the return of Cody Rhodes after a one-month dismissal in 2020 during his quarrel with Mr. Brodie Lee. Cody was crushed in a match for the TNT Championship and disappeared. He returned a month later, with a new look and a changed personality. Rhodes continued to defeat Lee in a brutal dog collar match that ended their quarrel.
