La Liga outfit Seville have offered a loan for Manchester United outcast Anthony Martial, according to Sky Sports. The 26-year-old striker wants to move away from Old Trafford to secure a regular first team.
Martial has fallen in line at United since the appearance of Mason Greenwood and the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho. Now it seems that the French national team player could have a regular first team, although in Seville, which made a loan offer for the player.
According to the mentioned source, Sevilla made an offer for a loan for six months. The offer does not include any obligation or option to make the relocation permanent next season. As things stand, United have yet to respond to an offer from the La Liga team.
United’s interim manager Ralph Rangnick recently confirmed that Martial is eager to leave Old Trafford in January. Ahead of United’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle United on Monday, Rangnick said:
“We talked for a long time on Wednesday. He explained to me that he’s been at Manchester United for the last seven years and he thinks it’s the right time to change, to go somewhere else. I think that’s kind of understandable; I could follow his thoughts.”
United signed Martial, then an unknown entity, in the summer of 2015. However, the Frenchman had an immediate impact, scoring a goal in his debut in a 3-1 victory over Liverpool. However, since then, the 26-year-old striker has had a water slide at Old Trafford.
He scored 79 goals in 268 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United. However, Martial tried to achieve a constant result, especially in the last two seasons.
The striker has scored just once in ten appearances this season. The Frenchman scored only seven times in the last campaign. This led to him lowering the line.
Manchester United dropped a point against Newcastle United who are struggling
Manchester United needed the heroic performance of goalkeeper David De Gea to save a point against the 19th Newcastle United on Monday. The Red Devils fell behind in the first half after Allan Saint-Maximin slipped the ball past the 31-year-old stopper.
It took United until the 71st minute to gather an answer. It came from Edinson Cavani, who came off the bench and tied the game 20 minutes before the whistle for the end. However, there was no winner because the guests had to settle for part of the loot.
