Ramiz Raja called the coach of Pakistan Misbah-ul-Haq “poor man MS Dhoni.” Raja believes that Misbah should direct ‘modern thinking’ and called on the Pakistani team to play more aggressively and freely in the future.
Speaking in an interview on the Cricket Baaza YouTube channel, Ramiz Raja suggested that Misbah-ul-Haq leave his muted approach behind and embrace Pakistan’s natural aggressive cricket style.
“Misbah-ul-Haq’s training and upbringing are different. Let me put it this way; he is poor Dhoni. MS was also restrained and not emotional. Misbah is also like that,” Ramiz Raja said.
The former Pakistani skipper added:
“Misbah-ul-Haq has to go in a new direction because there is a need to set the GPS correct for a cricket in Pakistan because there is aggression in our DNA. I mean, sometimes it gets too protective and gets coffee as soon as we lose the game. and failure. “
Ramiz Raja also garnered praise Englandwhite balls and pointed out how the fearless have made them one of the best teams in the ODI and T20I in recent years.
Ramiz Raja praises Ravi Shastri for his aggressive approach to the game
Giving another example of how aggression paid off in modern cricket, Ramiz Raja praised Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli. The former Pakistani skipper talked about how Shastri has been aggressive since his playing days.
“When we played against Ravi, we thought he was incompetent in the Indian team because he had aggression. He was a go-getter, a team player ready to open and remove the order. His body language was different. We thought he wanted to be an Imran type player Khan because we were like that, ”Raja remarked.
“I think he has taken this attitude towards the Indian team and fortunately captain Virat Kohli is like that too. He is aggressive and expressive and this has made a big difference for the Indian team,” the former Pakistani skipper added.
Misbah-ul-Haq and his team’s next assignment is a tour of South Africa, where they will play 3 ODIs and 4 T20Is against Protea. The first ODI will be held at Centurion in SuperSport Park on April 2nd.
