A seven -year investigation may have finally reached the turning point after a recent discovery was made at a Lone Star State church.

In 2014, $ 600,000 was stolen from a safe in Lakewood Church in Houston.

A Houston Police Department investigation is still ongoing and largely remained a mystery until a recent discovery was made that could offer more insight into the case.

In Nov. 10, a tubero making repairs to the area called a local radio station to report a discovery that could provide details for the loss of more than half a million dollars owned by the church.

In an interview with KHOU-TV, DJ George Lindsey said on the radio as if it had been seen in a movie. “It’s incredible!” he said, according to KPRC-TV.

“It’s like a movie, like a Rock and Ryan Reynolds movie. It’s crazy. ”

KTVT-TV, a news station local to the Dallas Fort-Worth area, reported the story and provided audio footage of the caller’s retelling of the event.

The plumber said he was making a spacious toilet and removed some insulation when hundreds of envelopes fell from the wall.

“We went to remove the bathroom, and I moved some insulation and about 500 envelopes fell from the wall, and I was like, ‘Oh wow!'”

According to the plumber, the findings were immediately reported to the maintenance supervisor who then notified authorities to the Houston Police Department.

The amount of money inside the envelopes was not disclosed and it is unclear if the envelopes were linked to more than $ 600,000 stolen.

KHOU also reported that the megachurch issued a statement, saying, “Recently, while doing renovations at Lakewood Church, an unspecified amount of money and checks were found.”

“Lakewood immediately notified the Houston Police Department and assisted them with their investigation. Lakewood has no further comment at this time.
