PSG struggled to create too many chances to score against the well-punched Canaries, who made the most of a bad return ball with Kylian Mbappe before he found a winner from an excellent counter.
PSG’s defeat means they failed to take advantage of Lille’s draw earlier that day and remain three points behind the league leader.
In that sense, let’s look at PSG player ratings.
Keylor Navas – 6/10
The Costa Rican saved the game brilliantly, but his teammates let him down. Keylor Navas could do nothing about both of Nantes’ goals.
Colin Dagba – 7/10
Colin Dagba started off brightly, missing the touch line and making two excellent interceptions, but his shot weakened after the break.
Marquinhos – 6/10
The PSG captain struggled all night at Nantes ’pace; Marquinhos was also well beaten for both Nantes goals.
Presnel Kimpembe – 7/10
Except for one nervous moment in the first half when he almost received a penalty, Presnel Kimpembe was solid in defense. He also filled 97% of the passes and won eight aerial matches – four more than anyone else on the field.
Abdou Diallo – 6/10
It was a very quiet match for Abdou Diallo, who didn’t offer much further. On defense, however, he was calm and read Nantes’ movements well.
Danilo Perreira – 6/10
Danilo Perreira had quite a few problems at rest, but he was physically strong on the ball and was looking to interrupt Nantes’ games. He completed three of his five attempts and 93% passes.
Marco Verratti – 6/10
Marco Verrati’s night was missing a spark. The man from PSG was run over in the middle of the field and could not stop Nantes from hitting and on holiday.
Angel Di Maria – 7.10
Angel Di Maria was PSG’s best attacking player of the night as he created several chances and also assisted Julian Draxler with a simple pass.
Rafinha – 5/10
The Spaniard missed two good chances in the match. Rafinha was also lucky not to be ruled out for the challenge when he was already on the yellow card.
Julian Draxler – 7/10
Aside from his goal, there was nothing about Draxler he could write about at home. At one point it seemed enough to claim all three points for PSG, but it wasn’t.
Kylian Mbappe – 6/10
Kylian Mbappe’s fickle form continued with a disappointing performance against Nantes. Playing his 100th league game for PSG, Mbappe rarely threatened Nantes and also made a sloppy backpass resulting in the visitors ’first goal.
Ratings of PSG deputies
Mauro Icardi – 6/10
Mauro Icardi was brought in to add a little firepower to PSG’s reluctant attack, but did nothing important.
Pablo Sarabia – 6/10
Just like Icardi, Pablo Sarabia could not offer anything in the attack of 15 minutes because of which he came.
Leandro Paredes – 6/10
Leandro Paredes made a nice rush in the 84 minute, but was eventually stopped by Nantes goalkeeper Alban Lafont.
Thilo Kehrer – 5/10
Thilo Kehrer’s only significant moment was the overthrow of Traore with a challenge, which is why he avoided the reservation.
