‘Shark Tank’ star, Daymond John, DJ Spinderella and more honored to advise young people




The stars were honored Tuesday with The sister agreement Leadership Award in Cincinnati, Ohio, for her mentoring work of young men and women. The non-profit organization, founded by Sonia Jackson Myles, allows young women to eradicate harassment and violence.

“I can’t believe it’s actually been eight years since The Sister Accord has been doing such amazing work in the community, and has given tutoring by example,” according to a video of John’s acceptance speech. “I really believe in tutoring and I’m here for a tribe of mentors. That’s what I try to do in Shark Tank and in my personal life.”

DJ Spinderella told CNN, “I hope this eighth annual Sister Accord day serves as a reminder to girls and women around the world to drive with love, reject the mindsets of evil girls, and celebrate the achievements of others.”

Other laureates included Johnny Gill of the new edition, Byron Cage, Janice Bryant Howroyd, Janet B. Reid and Jim Bechtold.

Jackson Myles told CNN in a statement: “At the Sister Accord Foundation, we believe the world needs love. It’s our core; it’s our mantra; it’s our lifestyle. Number eight represents new beginnings and I’m delighted. to mark the eighth annual Sister Agreement Day, along with our extraordinary list of performers, winners and laureates. “
