None of us want to miss a meeting, but it’s easy to lose time if notifications about upcoming meetings appear too early. Google is trying to fix this with the latest calendar updates. Finally, added option to pause notifications right on desktop For all Workspace accounts.

By default, paused notifications reappear one minute before your scheduled appointment, giving you plenty of time to join a Google Meet call before it’s too late. To pause, you need to make sure desktop notifications are turned on in settings and the calendar is open somewhere in your browser. Even after the meeting has started, you can continue to pause notifications in 5 minute increments until the meeting ends.

Starting today, this feature is available to all Google Workspace customers. Calendar users with desktop notifications already enabled will be prompted only once sometime over the next few weeks to notify you of any changes and connect directly to your settings to adjust when notifications reappear. Pause cannot be disabled on the desktop, but you can adjust the timing to your liking.
