All you wanted to know about the movie Babli Bouncer

Plot and the Star cast of Babli Bouncer explained

What do you expect in a movie whose director is known for his women-centric films and has even been awarded for showing the hard-hitting reality of life? Another serious woman-centric film! Right? Wrong!

Director Madhur Bhandarkar’s brand new movie Babli Bouncer is definitely a woman-centric film but is unlike any of his past creations. Infact, Babli Bouncer is a woman-centric comedy movie that dwells on some real-life situations.

Here is all you want to know about the plot and cast of Babli Bouncer.

The Plot

Just outside of New Delhi, there are the twin towns of Asola and Fatehpur Beri. These towns have a reputation for creating strongmen (Pehalwans), many of which end up becoming bouncers in the various clubs and pubs across the National Capital Region. Babli is the daughter of a village strongman who also runs a body-building school.

Babli develops a crush on the local school teacher’s son who goes abroad and returns to join a corporate with a plum salary. In an attempt to impress her, Babli who has failed to even clear her 10th standard decides to become a lady bouncer and try and get as close as possible to her crush.

What happens next is a series of hilarious situations, but in the end, Babli also realises her true calling.

The Cast

Babli Bouncer has three main characters; Babli (Tamannaah Bhatia), her crush Viraj (Abhishek Bajaj) and Babli’s hidden admirer Kukku (Sahil Vaid). Here is more about them.

Tamannaah Bhatia

Playing the title role, Tamannaah is present in almost every frame throughout the movie. She has acted in over 65 movies to date and has proved her mettle primarily in Telugu, Tamil and a few Hindi movies. Tamannaah was just 15 when she debuted in the Hindi movie Chand Sa Roshan Chehra in 2005. But soon she shifted base to Telugu and Tamil cinema and quickly became a superstar there.

In Babli Bouncer, Tamannaah carries the weight of the entire film on her shoulders and definitely does justice to the role.

Abhishek Bajaj

After a successful career on TV, Abhishek made his Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2 in 2019 followed by Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. He plays Babli’s highly educated crush in the movie. As expected from his character, Abhishek does complete justice to the role.

Sahil Vaid

Kukku is perhaps the most adorable character of Babli Bouncer. Kukku is a toughie on the outside but when it comes to Babli, he melts in an instant! Sahil is a well-known dubbing artist and has been lending his voice to many Hollywood as well as movies from the South. Babli Bouncer is the 7th on-screen performance for this busy dubbing artist who has given his voice to many superheroes and south superstars.

The movie also has the veteran actors Saurabh Shukla and Supriya Shukla play Babli’s parents. While her father is proud that she has become a bouncer, Babli’s mother is constantly worried about her marriage.

Overall the concept of Babli Bouncer is fresh and does have its lighter engaging moments, but don’t go to watch it as a typical hard-hitting Madhur Bhandarkar movie. Babli Bouncer is way different from any of his previous creations.

So, if you are looking to see Tamannaah Bhatia’s acting skills, or her fight to get her place in a male-dominated bouncer world, then Babli Bouncer is just the right movie for you and your entire family!
