Malik Blade and Andre Chase entered the fray after prolonged losing streaks, but Chase finally kept his promise of providing a “teaching moment.”
Blade caught fire early in the game, using his speed and a series of dropkicks to stun his enemy, but Chase quickly fought back with a spinning neck collar and began to slow down.
After Blade was played, Chase was kicked out of the perfect crossbody at the very last moment and then tossed his opponent face-first onto the canvas to earn a much-needed 1-2-3.
Indy Hartwell def. Valentina Feroz
Valentina Feroz turned her head with a 4-1 record on the revamped 205 Live and quickly established herself as one of the most popular entrants in the NXT Arena, but former NXT Women’s Champion Indy Hartwell may have posed her biggest challenge to date.
Hartwell took advantage of her size advantage by throwing Feroz in a square circle early in the game, even taking advantage of Persia Pirotta’s brief distraction at the ring.
Feroz responded with a series of hard kicks, but after failing to snuggle against her arm, Hartwell responded with a thunderous slap to her spine to seal the victory.
Roderick Strong def. Draco Anthony
Malcolm Bivens, surrounded by a diamond mine, made no secret of it: NXT Heavyweight Champion Roderick Strong is ready and willing to take on anyone, gray-haired veterans or fresh-faced rookies, whether they hit the 205 pound threshold or outshine several hundred pounds of it.
Case in point: Strong was opposed by debuting Draco Anthony, who looked wise beyond his years, matching the champion’s savvy in the starting blocks.
Anthony brought the WWE Universe to its climax when he hit Strong with a series of vicious punches and threw him across the ring, but Strong stopped the rookie attack when he tattooed him with a jumping knee to win.
