Zombies have the opportunity to spawn in groups of four at a light level of seven or less.
All zombies also have a 5% chance of spawning either as zombie villagers or baby zombies. Baby zombies have an additional 5% chance of spawning on top of chickens, known as the Chicken Jockey.
Zombies have an 80% chance of spawning like shells in desert biomes. They are also found in 50% of mafia scavengers in the dungeon.
With all of this, some zombies will spawn with tools or armor, making them stronger than ordinary zombies.
Zombies will chase players within 40 blocks of a radius of 16 blocks from other mobs. This makes zombies some of the most annoying mobs in Minecraft.
In addition, zombies damaged by a player can summon any other zombies within a radius of 67 blocks. In hard mode, additional zombies have the opportunity to spawn when a player attacks zombies.
Zombies will attack villagers, iron Golems and wandering merchants, posing as a mass threat to village security. If the village iron giant eventually dies, there will be nothing to protect the villagers from the invasion of zombies.
Zombies do not like sunlight because it causes them to be completely engulfed in flames.
10% of zombies chasing players or villagers will also knock on closed doors if they are in their way. In severe difficulties, they can even break down doors.
If a zombie’s head is submerged under water for more than 30 seconds, it will transform into a Drowned Man.
