However, the match is already official, and Sheamus is watching from the outside. Drew McIntyre will challenge Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania for the WWE title.
The match was announced at the start of tonight’s edition of WWE RAW, making McIntyre’s match on Sunday against Sheamus pretty pointless. Since Bobby Lashley’s opponent has already decided, All Mighty’s journey to WrestleMania has officially begun.
Why is Sheamus no longer in Bobby Lashley’s WWE Championship equation?
Instead of competing for a shot for Bobby Lashley at Fastlane this Sunday, Sheamus will face him at WWE RAW tonight instead. Why these plans have changed so abruptly, everyone is guessing, but this adds another confirmed match to the WWE WrestleMania card.
Aside from Lashley against McIntyre, only two more matches have been officially announced for The Grandest Stage of Them All.
- Roman Reigns will defend the WWE Universal Championship against Edge
- Sasha Banks will defend the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair
- Bobby Lashley will defend the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre
Since WrestleMania is less than a month away and tickets will start selling very soon, it would be in WWE’s interest for this card to be released as soon as possible.
WWE Fastlane is the company’s final event with pay-per-view on the U.S. version of the WWE network and final pay-per-view to WrestleMania.
