How is meth carried out at large-scale operations in labs?

  • If Pseudoephedrine and ephedrine are not in powder form, they are separated from the tablets. To separate, the cold medicine is mixed with solvent and solution, and after that, it is filtered and exposed to low temperatures. This way, all the inert material of the tablet is separated and removed.
  • Now the Pseudoephedrine is mixed with red phosphorus and hydriodic acid.
  • After which, the red phosphorus is filtered, and the leftover is neutralized by adding an Iye solution.
  • A substance is added further that bind the meth, and the liquid is separated.
  • After that, hydrogen chloride gas is passed through liquid meth to convert it into crystalline hydrochloride salt.
  • The mixture is filtered with the help of a filter cloth. Finally, the meth is left on the fabric for drying for a certain period.
  • Once the meth is dried, it is mixed with an inert filler to maximize the profits, and it is then weighted and shipped to sale.

When the meth is prepared on a large scale in meth labs, it almost takes two days to cook meth, and thus, this 2-day procedure prepares hundreds of thousands of methamphetamine doses.
