Bobby Lashley: “New Day”: toasts to the championship
As Almighty Champion and MVP were about to raise their points, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods broke the party with their own problems. Kingston fought Lashley for the WWE title at WWE Money in the Bank, and the title holder asked for an opportunity to silence Woods later that night in cell hell.
Ricochet def. AJ Styles – Bank Qualifier Cash
As a result of a large-scale confrontation between AJ Styles and Ricochet, the first participant of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match was determined. As Ricochet fell on the mat, Viking raiders rushed in to wreak havoc on the process. After Erik and Ivar sent Omos flying through the barricades, Ricochet regrouped and parried his Phenomenal Forearm to achieve a shocking victory.
Asuka and Naomi def. Eva Marie & Doudrop – Bank Qualifier Cash
Eva Marie’s dominant cohort was introduced as Doodrop before the match, but Asuka and Naomi were determined to spoil her big disclosure. Doodrop was forced to do most of the hard work early, but Eva Marie tried to mark her way to steal glory with Naomi downstairs in a square circle. After The Glow flew out, Marie panicked for the mark, but Doodrop backed away from his partner, allowing Naomi to win.
John Morrison def. Randy Orton – Bank Qualifier Cash
With the injured Meese “bravely” accompanying him into the ring, John Morrison was hoping to earn his way back into the spotlight of WWE champion photography. Things looked bleak for Johnny Drip Drip after Orton smashed him across the bulletin board. As Snake stalked its prey, chaos erupted from A-Lister’s Drip Stick attack, and Riddle’s trip to the ring allowed Morrison to strike starship pain for yet another overwhelming upset.
Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross def. Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax – Cash In Bank Qualifier
Nikki Cross has embodied a whole new spirit in the red brand and returned to the twisted world of her old friend Alexa Bliss in hopes of defeating Shayna Basler and Nia Jax in their quest for Money in the Bank opportunities. Bliss’s gaze drove Reginald into a trance during the match, and a close blow from Force Majeure forced the pair to leave the Queen of Spades behind. Left alone with himself, Cross rushed into battle and defeated Basler.
Riddle def. Drew McIntyre – Bank Qualifier Cash
The battle scars from his journey to hell were still visible on Drew McIntyre, but the Scottish warrior was still trying to get past Riddle in order to earn a match for the money in the Bank Ladder match. McIntyre bravely overcame the pain, but the appearance of the Serpent on the ramp seemed to cheer the Original Bro as he continued to fend off the all-out attack. After a seemingly endless series of crushing blows, Riddle turned McIntyre and held on, trying to survive.
Bobby Lashley, def. Xavier Woods – Hell in a Cage
Bobby Lashley entered cell hell for the second time in 24 hours, trying to silence Xavier Woods and send a message to his rival at WWE Money in the Bank. The Almighty Champion flexed his muscles in a display of brute strength, but Woods fought back, striking his opponent with a steel chair, a Kendo stick, and elbowing himself across the table. When it emerged that the WWE champion might have run out of steam, Lashley struck Woods with one crushing spear and held on to Hurt Lock long after the MVP pinned down the steel frame doors.
