Pat McAfee joins Friday Night SmackDown announce team

WWE announced today that Pat McAfee will debut as new analyst for Friday Night SmackDown tonight at 8 p.m. ET live on FOX.

McAfee posted the news about the WWE Universe with a huge social media announcement Friday morning.

“As far back as I can remember, WWE has been a company I admired, both for its incredible resilience in creating immersive entertainment and for its ability to connect people around the world,” McAfee said. “I was lucky enough to try a lot of cool jobs, but the WWE job was the one I was looking forward to the most. I am incredibly flattered and grateful for the opportunity to return the business that has given me and so many others so much, and the opportunity to sit down at the same table that the legends have adorned is truly a dream come true. Now let’s go and get it.

Each week, McAfee will be joined in the ring by WWE VP Michael Cole, who will announce talent live and voice Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.

Known for his outspoken, open and fresh looks, McAfee’s insight and sense of humor have built him a large, loyal and active fan base. In addition to being a philanthropist, social media influencer, comedian, and former Indianapolis Colts All-Pro player, McAfee is also the host of The Pat McAfee Show, an international daily sports show, which airs simultaneously on both channels.
