WWE is saddened to learn that former WCW star Shannon Spruill, known to fans of sports entertainment as Duffney, has passed away at the age of 46.

Spruill gained worldwide acclaim when she first came to WCW in November 1999 as Duffney, joining David Flair and Lom. Shortly after she made a name for herself, in May 2000, Duffney made history when she became the second woman to win the WCW Heavyweight Championship. With her signature scream and ever-changing style, Duffney has become a mainstay of the independent scene for over two decades.

WWE would like to express its condolences to Spruill’s family, friends, and fans.
