Bianca Belair was forced to deal with Sasha Banks and Zelina Vega
Following the return of Sasha Banks and the attack on SmackDown women’s champion Bianca Belair, WWE’s EST interrupted the boss in the ring to rekindle a war of words. However, when they started talking about title matches, Zelena Vega kept Belair’s word by giving her the match. As a result, Bianca made it clear that she would take care of Banks on pay view on August 21st and Vega tonight on SmackDown!
Jay Uso def. Dominic Mysterio
On his way to a rematch for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam, Dominic Mysterio was momentarily distracted when Rey Mysterio was forced to knock out the intervening Jimmy Uso outside the ring. This gave Jay the opportunity to hit Superkick and Uso Splash to win.
King Nakamura def. Apollo Crews through suspension
When it looked like King Nakamura might defeat the Apollo Crews in an intriguing championship match, Commander Aziz abruptly removed the Artist from the ring and ended the action with a disqualification. When Aziz tried to hit the square circle after the bell, Nakamura threw the Prince of Nigeria into his giant cohort.
Tegan Knox, def. Tamina
After two consecutive victories by the new SmackDown Shotzi & Nox tandem over the female WWE Tag Team Champions, Tegan Knox defeated Tamina one-on-one when a shot from Shotzi’s tank distracted the title holder long enough for Knox to turn her over. up for a quick pin.
Edge challenges Seth Rollins to SummerSlam
Although Seth Rollins did not appear to the Edge in person, he did appear via satellite to engage in a war of words. While Rollins decided to chuckle at the Rated-R superstar, Edge challenged the SmackDown Savior in a very personal duel at SummerSlam. And when The Ultimate Opportunist pissed off Rollins enough by calling him Edge Light, the enraged Architect finally agreed.
Street profit def. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Rood
Angelo Dawkins and his returning tag teammate Montes Ford landed, colliding with Dirty Dawgs on the back of Ford’s gravity defying splash from the top rope that was sorely lacking!
Bianca Belair def. Zelena Vega
Despite Sasha Banks’ early distraction, WWE’s EST defeated Zelina Vega in a head-to-head contender match with KOD.
Finn Balor def. Baron Corbin
After Baron Corbyn prevented Finn Balor from winning the universal title at SummerSlam, the prince tried to teach Corbyn a lesson he will never forget and won with Coup de Grace.
Roman Raines and Uso beat Finn Balor 3-on-1
When universal champion Roman Reigns warned Finn Balor to stop using his name in the final moments of SmackDown, Prince responded by pushing the Head of the Table out of the ring while Raines walked out. Moments later, Uso was attacked from behind and Raines decided to leave. However, when Balor began to get the most out of Jimmy and Jay, the Head of the Table returned and the 3-on-1 Bloodline’s onslaught was too strong as Raines drove Finn out with the guillotine.
