WWE and PGA Tour join the Comcast NBCUniversal SportsTech Accelerator as advisors to its upcoming class of rising startups
Comcast NBCUniversal announced today that WWE and PGA TOUR have joined Boomtown-backed Comcast NBCUniversal SportsTech Accelerator as advisors when it launches its second startup group in February 2022.
In just its second year of existence, SportsTech has created a separate group of experts to advise accelerator participants, including business leaders from NBC Sports, Sky Sports, GOLF, NBC Sports Next and Comcast Spectacor, as well as NASCAR and three US Olympic sports organizations: USA … Ski and Snowboard, Swimming in the USA and Cycling in the USA. Startups selected to participate in the SportsTech Accelerator will have valuable access to WWE and PGA TOUR business leaders beyond those currently participating in the program. During its first demo day in May of this year, First Class closed 16 business deals with Comcast and its accelerator partners – and that number has since grown to more than 29 pilots to date.
