WWE kicks off 2022 in Atlanta

STAMFORD, Connecticut, July 23, 2021 – WWE will kick off a new year at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Saturday, January 1, 2022, marking the first ever pay-per-view event. New Years Day. The event will be streamed live on New Years Eve at 8 p.m. ET exclusively on Peacock in the US and on the WWE network everywhere.

“I don’t know about you, but I think New Year’s Trae would be a great name for this event and I cannot think of a better way to host it in 2022 than with WWE Universe,” said the Atlanta Hawks All-Star. Point guard Trey Young, who announced a New Year’s event during tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown.

“State Farm Arena is a phenomenal location with a long history of hosting world-class events,” said Scott Zangellini, WWE’s senior vice president of strategy and revenue development. “We’re thrilled to provide this pay view for Atlanta residents and the many who come to town to celebrate the New Year.”

New Year’s Eve pay-per-view tickets will go on sale Friday, August 27th at 10:00 am on Ticketmaster.com. The event will feature Superstars Superstars from SmackDown and Raw, including WWE Universal Champion Roman Raines, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, Raw Women’s Champion Nikki ASH, WWE Apollo Crews Intercontinental Champion, Raw Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Omos, SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos, US Champion Sheamus, Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya and Tamina, Drew McIntyre, Charlotte Fleur, Randy Orton, Riddle, Sasha Banks, Seth Rollins, Alexa Bliss and many others.
