Ilya Dragunov, def. Roderick Strong
Kushida’s injury prompted an open challenge from the Diamond Mine, and the Mad Russian happily accepted it. Roderick Strong took advantage of Hachiman’s distraction to knock Ilya Dragunov onto the steps of the ring to take control. A battered Dragunov plunged into the ground to land the Torpedo Moscow and relayed a tough message to WALTER in front of NXT TakeOver 36.
Cameron Grimes def. Josh Briggs
The LA Knight handed out money in front of the NXT to find someone to defeat Cameron Grimes and pressed the towering Josh Briggs to carry out his order. Briggs demonstrated his strength, but the stalwart butler delivered a crushing blow to the Cave In for victory. The million dollar champion took matters into his own hands after a match with unexpected cheap punches to Ted DiBias and Grimes.
Indy Hartwell and Dexter Loomis def. Jesse Kamea and Robert Stone
Indie Hartwell and Dexter Loomis sought to turn their hot love into inner chemistry against Robert Stone’s brand. Robert Stone spent most of the match trying to avoid Loomis, but Frankie Monet’s attempt to fight resulted in her being thrown out of the ring. Hartwell stole the show, using Loomis’s Silence to get Jesse Kamea out of line, and then fizzled out with a stunning offer.
Carmelo Hayes vs. Odissi Jones
Duke Hudson had a lot to talk about in his NXT Breakout Tournament semifinal, but Carmelo Hayes pulled out all the tricks. Hayes switched the match with a lot of DDT and then flew off the top cable to punch his ticket to the finals. As Hayes was celebrating, Odysseus Jones rolled into the ring to remind him of what to expect next week.
MSK def. Imperium – NXT Tag Team Championship Match
MSK took off on the first bell, but Imperium stopped them with impressive power. Nash Carter and Wes Lee eventually showed why they climbed to the top of the NXT and demanded more respect with another impressive win. WALTER brought in the post-match fireworks as he rolled to the level of Dragunov and the NXT Tag Team Champions.
