New NXT Champion Carrion Cross Turns To NXT Universe With Scarlett
Black and Gold is arguably its darkest era under the rule of the destructive Carrion Cross and the sinister siren Scarlett. The new NXT champion gave respectful props to former Finn champion Balor after their bitter fight at NXT TAKEOVER: Stand & Deliver, but he promised fights every future opponent until no one was left.
NXT Tag Team Champions MSK def. Killian Dayne and Drake Maverick retain NXT Tag titles
Perhaps surprisingly, Killian Dayne and Drake Maverick were in control of much of the action, continuing to display improving chemistry. But MSK turned the tables upside down with its high-octane tandem as well as an impressive groundbreaking burst of spin from Wes Lee to Dain. Lee and Nash Carter closed the book in their first title defense after hitting Drake with a combo blockbuster.
After that, Alexander Wolfe faced his former ally Dane, but it turned out to be only a smokescreen for a full-scale ambush of the Imperium by Marcel Barthel and Fabian Eichner.
Mercedes Martinez def. Jesse Kamea with Robert Stone and Aliya
After a fight with Mercedes Martinez earlier in the day, Jesse Kamea looked fully prepared for the massive opportunity and dominated her more experienced opponent early on. However, it was only a matter of time before Martinez’s veteran savvy wins out as she dropped the Cameo with an airstrike.
However, Martinez didn’t finish when she bumped Robert Stone into the barricade until he handed over the money he owed Martinez in exchange for her teaming up with Aliya in a melee last month.
Kushida def. Santos Escobar to become the new NXT Heavyweight Champion
Santos Escobar may regret his decision to announce an open challenge as the resident Time Splitter NXT has taken the challenge seriously. The two fought a classic back and forth game, with Escobar showing his meanness by slamming his head into the steel steps of Kushida. Kushida fought bravely and nearly fell after connecting with the Kimura Superplex.
In the end, the combatants traded links with Kushida, ultimately surpassing Emperor Ray Libre for a massive title victory, leaving Escobar and the NXT Universe in shock.
Frankie Monet was confronted by Raquel Gonzalez; Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair share championship salute with Gonzalez
Frankie Monet’s long-awaited arrival came true when she interrupted the new NXT women’s champion with the promise that Raquel Gonzalez would see Monet much more in the future.
This showdown was not the only surprise for Big Mami Cool, as new Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champions and former NXT products Ray Ripley and Bianca Belair unexpectedly returned to Capitol Wrestling Center to share a special moment in the ring with their titles. …
Isaiah “Swerve” Scott def. Leon Raff
Targeted by Leon Ruff from the start in last week’s Gauntlet Eliminator, Isaiah ‘Swerve “Scott paid back the favor by immediately accepting his opponent’s punishment before giving him a JML driver to win.
However, Ruff vowed that their problem was not over yet, showing an uncharacteristically vicious side by ambushing “Swerve” backstage after the match.
Bronson Reed, Dexter Loomis, Shotzy Blackheart and Amber Moon def. Path in an eight-man mixed team match
In addition to the clash of rivals with each other, Indy Hartwell and Dexter Loomis also participated in this unique duel. The other superstars have been unable to part the crossed fans’ stars for long, despite repeated reproaches, in particular from Candice Leray.
The action in the ring was chaotic from the first bell, with all eight members exchanging attacks, including Amber Moon defeating Johnny Gargano with a handsome suicide top, and LeRay also planted Loomis with a diving DDT tornado outside, apparently berating him for his connection to Hartwell … Bronson Reed even used Shotzy Blackheart’s partner as a weapon at Blackheart’s request, releasing her outside to destroy other competitors.
Back in the ring, Loomis hit Silence on Gargano, but Hartwell seemingly pretended to be dead in order to get Loomis’s attention. Austin’s theory stabbed Loomis in the back when he seemed ready to face Hartwell, who was upset that her plan was thwarted.
Without holding back for long, Hartwell threw Theory – her teammate – out into the street before laying down on the mat again. Once on the bait, Loomis took Hartwell and walked out of the Capitol Fight Center with her in his arms.
Moments later, Reed struck down Gargano with a tsunami surge and took a decisive victory over the North American champion NXT, ending one of the most unpredictable and bizarre bouts in the history of the black and gold brand.
