PM directs Pervez Khattak to gather evidence regarding Nowshera election rigging
PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed Pervez Khattak to collect evidence related to Nowshera election rigging and submit it to the Election Commission.
According to details, a meeting of the parliamentary party was held in Peshawar under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan, in which the Prime Minister directed Pervez Khattak to gather evidence regarding Nowshera election rigging and submit details of Nowshera election rigging to the Election Commission.
During the meeting, Defense Minister Pervez Khattak apprised the Prime Minister of the reasons for the defeat in the Konoshahra election while members of the parliamentary party lodged a barrage of complaints.
The MLAs complained that the bureaucracy was not giving any importance to the MLAs and the Chief Minister’s Secretariat had become a no-go area for us while the traditional police culture had once again started in the police stations.
It may be recalled that the PTI candidate has challenged the election results of PK-63 Nowshera, in which he said that the election staff had clearly changed the serial number, details of votes, 2,2 certified copies of Form 46 containing various records were issued. ۔
The petition said that 1500 ballot papers were found missing at one polling station, 1200 ballot papers were issued at polling station No. 41, 483 votes were cast and 1317 ballot papers were returned to the returning officer instead of 717.
The petition said that 1800 ballot papers were issued at one polling station but 2400 votes were cast, 40 per cent of the polling stations were mismanaged and irregularities were exposed.
It may be recalled that 6000 votes of Nowshera constituency PK-63 were revealed to be missing. Sources said that the margin of victory was 4100 while the number of missing votes was more than 6000 and there was a clear difference in the confirmed Form 46, no record of 6000 votes.
