Thinking of Joining SurgeU? What To Expect

SurgeU is a biblical educational platform that equips Christians with the tools to build wealth through its real estate and stock market trading educational platforms.

One of the SurgeU offerings aims to teach individuals how to trade and invest in a variety of financial markets. The educational platform focuses on empowering people to manage their finances and investments rather than relying solely on financial advisers or money managers.

The reality of dealing with stocks, cryptocurrency, forex, and other financial elements is that many people are curious about investing for their future, but they just don’t know how or where to begin. SurgeU is working to simplify the leap of faith investors need to take.

According to Jeremy Nosek, chief strategy officer for SurgeU, many individuals find themselves behind on their financial goals, particularly in terms of retirement savings. He cited financial services company Fidelity’s recommendations for retirement savings milestones, which suggest having one times your salary saved by age 30, two times by 35, and five times by 45.

“A lot of people find they feel hopeless, they feel lost, they feel behind,” Nosek states. He attributed this partly to what he described as Wall Street’s conditioning of people to think about trading and investing in certain ways. Nosek argues that this conditioning often leads individuals to believe they’re not capable of managing their own investments.

SurgeU’s approach challenges this notion. The program contends that individuals don’t need an Ivy League MBA or a position at a major financial institution to understand how to trade and invest effectively. To that end, this is where Wall Street meets Main Street. Nosek emphasizes, “At the end of the day, nobody’s going to care about your money as much as you do.”

The SurgeU Difference

A large part of SurgeU’s mission is ensuring that students feel both encouraged and assisted on their new paths.

“I think a big part of that is white-glove support and just being with them on their journey,” Nosek shares.

While any student can get discouraged at the sheer complexities of trading, Nosek says SurgeU makes a point to “Get them reengaged, reinspired, let them know that they’re not alone.”

While SurgeU doesn’t specifically target any one demographic, “The people that are buying their classes are more in that 40 to 60 range, and married,” says another SurgeU executive, Rob Collins.

Nosek also noted that while the financial trading education industry has historically been male-dominated, SurgeU has a more balanced gender representation among its student body.

Nosek adds, “Most people that end up in the education care about their retirement. They’re putting some money away, but again, they’re kind of off-pace for some of those levels that we talked about.” He points out that these individuals are often looking for ways to supplement their retirement income or increase their investment returns to align with their retirement goals.

“We say 73% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, and many do not feel confident about maintaining their standard of living in retirement,” Nosek explains. He framed this as a challenge for Christians, referencing a biblical proverb: “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.”

SurgeU positions itself as part of a broader movement to address these financial challenges. Nosek adds, “We hope that that’s just part of the spark that ignites for a movement to put huge focus on this area that needs to be much more of a focus.”

From Networth to Network

Individuals considering SurgeU can expect a program that offers a gradual introduction to its methods and the opportunity to ask questions and work at their own pace. Nosek says the program aims to appeal to “all areas of business, whether you’re looking to start a business, you’re not sure where to go to, you’re an existing business owner, and you’re looking for support to take your business to the next level.”

Prayer and networking are additional facets of the SurgeU curriculum. “Students get to worship a bit, pray together, get a little bit of an inspiring message,” Nosek shares. “We’re big on community too and making sure that students are interacting with each other. That’s a big part of encouraging that community and the student interaction with each other.”

Growing the SurgeU community is a top priority for the biblical-based brand. “We’re working feverishly on just how do we cultivate community to get that peer level support at maximum level,” Nosek says.
